It also has no coverage of sliders that are programmable, so you can’t set it to save an input file without specific settings. So what if you have a tiny dot in the corner? You can’t get rid of it by saving again, without first adjusting the setting and saving again. Trying to work around it by just ignoring it is impossible, because the adjustment is global and not something you can turn off.

It’s geared more towards an entry level type scanner which is why it has a fast feel to it. However, if you want a fast scanner that does a little bit more then look no further than Photoshop. Even if you are not using the software for scanning it offers some basic colour correction features making it very versatile.

I have been using VueScan for many years and really enjoy using it. I would have no scanner without it. I like the ease of use of VueScan and the speed of scanning. The price is not very high and my favourite feature is the free updates which are available for a 3 year period. If you are looking for a program that supports a lot of different scanner brands then this is the program for you. The only draw back I have found with VueScan is that it does not support creating PDF files from your scans so if you want to do that you need to use a separate program. If you do not want to buy their software but are willing to pay for a “cheap” scanner, take a look at Hamrick. They have a good online portal and you can get great quality images at a cheap price. Their scan quality was also good when I tested it.

The best software for me is the VueScan. I love the fact that I can use my cheap scanner with a much better quality than if I was using a cheaper scanner. I have not found another scanner software like it, in the world that does more for a cheaper price.
